Maame Pokua Boakye is a Tutor in the Department of Education and Professional Studies at Kibi Presbyterian College of Education. She is currently a Ph.D. Special Education student at the University of Cape Coast. Maame Pokua holds a Master of Philosophy degree in Special Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education and Art from the University of Education, Winneba. Her specialty is education for the visually impaired and inclusive education. She has participated in and facilitated a number of conferences and workshops. Maame Pokua Boakye has been a practicing special educator for the past thirteen years. She was a Special Education Resource teacher at Dansoman Special School and later at Pokuase M/A Basic Schools, both in the Greater Accra Region. Maame founded the Ghana National Network of Special Educators (GHANNSE). She is a Teacher Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Service Provider accredited by the National Teaching Council (NTC). Maame Pokua is married to Mr. Patrick Osei Owusu. Their marriage is blessed with three lovely children: Robertha, Patrick Junior, and Michael Osei Owusu.
