Profile

I am a mathematics tutor at Kibi Presbyterian College of Education, with 30 years teaching experience at various levels of the education and currently in courses such as

  • curriculum studies in mathematics
  • mathematical investigation,
  • elementary algebra
  • geometry and trigonometry,
  • pedagogical content knowledge
  • methods of teaching mathematics in basic school.

I am a PhD candidate at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana and holds. I hold a master of science degree in Industrial Mathematics from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Bachelor of Education in basic education from the University of Cape Coast, a Bachelor of education in mathematics from Valley View University, Oyibi-Accra, and a certificate A from Kibi Presbyterian College of Education. My research focus is on the development of Mathematics teaching identity and what shapes it.

In the classroom, she places emphasis on inclusivity and equity among students, guiding and stimulating critical thinking to engage them in discourse to bring about learning, problem solving and self-confidence.

Veronica is someone who always brings home mathematics into the classroom one to make the classroom environment stimulating and lively for students to acknowledge the fact that everyone can do mathematics as it is found everywhere you go. Also, she believes in the practicality of mathematics teaching making it fun and exploratory. She aims to allow students to collaborate and become global citizens fit for purpose.
